as I can't stand paying the prices in high street jewellers - far too much profit margin.
Anybody got any good experiences of non high street or bespoke jewellers?

I did LOADS of research and comprisons on diamonds and ring prices for about 3 months b4 i decided where to get my engagement ring from. I used https://www.diamondgeezer.com about a year ago to get my engagement ring made. was a bit sceptical about buying online, but they are really excellent.have a look at the website, loads of designs, u can even design your own ring. had my ring made specially for me so its unique, plus it came with a free certificate and valuation (my ring is valued at double the actual price i paid) this is prob a 1/3 (if not less) of what i wouldv'e paid for the same quality diamond on the high street!

i chose exactly what diamond i wanted and they found one for me, (whereas on the high street, u have a choice only from whatever they have available) plus on high street, only certain diamonds are certified, and 90% of the time they can only tell you the size of the diamond ,not the actual cut, clarity, or colour...

Hi, I don't know where you live but we had my engagement ring made by PA jewellers in Sheffield (Details below). We showed them a picture of what we wanted, told them our budget and they sourced 6 diamonds for us to choose from (its an unusual platinum diamond solitaire with a pear shaped diamond). We choose the diamond we liked best and they then took a fortnight to make the ring on site. It's a place where you can barter a bit and will get some money off. The price we piad was £500 to £1000 cheaper than we had been quoted for a bespoke ring from anywhere on the highstreet and we ended up with a better quality diamond than offered in highstreet stores - they charge such a premium if it is bespoke but PA specialise in this as they have on site silversmiths/jewellery makers (not sure what you call them). Hope this helps (don't suppose it will if you're no where near Sheffield though!) (By the way it is a really nice shop, not a dodgy back street one)!
