AVI to DVD recommendations please

Hi there I'm looking for a converter as the title suggests. I have downloaded a few free trials and I found convertx to be quite good, but the problem with that is its taking around 45 minutes just to convert, I just wondered if there are any faster products around which will still let me watch the dvd on my xbox and home dvd player, thanks.

DVD FLICK is well used around here
But 45 mins doesnt sound bad for a conversion (dependent on file size, length of vid and processor you use)

Ok thanks, I did wonder if a much faster speed could be achieved, I have a fairly decent laptop so I guess I'll have to settle, I've only got a few things to convert anyway, Thanks.

    I use convertx...which I prefer to dvdflick.
Takes around 8 minutes to convert 1.5 hours for me though (depends on bitrate)....slowest part of the process is burning to dvd :)
    quad core ftw ;)

I suppose because it's what I'm used to...been using it since the old shareware (freeware?) days.
I have tried flick..converted 1 avi..looked ok, same as convertx...not quite as good as doing the job properly, but I really CBA doing that any more (separating the audio and vid, encodoing both, muxing and burning...used to take ~4 hrs on my old machine :(
Speed was comparable (I think maybe a little slower)
I suppose if I didn't already have a key for convertx I might have taken flick more seriously...
