How to save money on mobiles -- the 'con'

Options
Have you noticed how quickly you've got to answer your mobile phone to avoid missing the call and having to access the voicemail service (at your expense)?

It's a little con of course that the cheeky service providers pull to get you to spend more on calls. They set the default delay on a new account to be as short as possible (seems to be less than 5 seconds -- just long enough to untangle the mobile from your pocket but not quite long enough to press the button!)

To get round this you have to phone up your provider (at your expense of course) who will then guide you through a long rigmarole involving many ** and ## and digits, allowing you the privilege of extending the delay to a more reasonable time (30 seconds in my case is the maximum).

But now I'm saving money (and annoyance)!
