Mountain Rescue Petition

I've been forwarded a petition by one of my hubby's workmates. He is a volunteer with the Mountain Rescue, which as many if not most of you will know is funded and run entirely by donations and volunteers.
There is a petition on the Downing Street website for people to sign up so that they can claim back the VAT on all of their expenses. Currently, they can only claim this back on First Aid equipment.
They are a very worthy cause and they save many lives each year. If the petition is granted, they will be able to claim back the VAT on other expenses such as council tax, petrol, water rates and other running costs. This will bring them level with the RNLI, who are run on a similar basis to the Mountain Rescue team.
