I have a single bed & have trouble fitting single bedsheets on the mattress so I would expect the same to be for the king size.

I personally wouldn't buy a non UK standard mattress or bed frame as it causes a great deal of problems when one needs replacing because it seriously limits the places where you can shop.

    I disagree.

For IKEA king size (160cm or 180cm wide) just buy super-kingsize bedding from anywhere. We buy from John Lewis in their sale. Works a treat.

As for restricting yourself when you want a new mattress, for example, yes you are restricted to just buying from IKEA but there are so many of them around that it is hardly a problem.

They used to do a 2ft 6inch iron framed bed, but I can't see it in our Ikea now.

Does anyone know where I can get a similar type of bed? It is a small box room, and a 3ft bed will be a bit over powering.

  • b.t.w. Did you know that 1 in 10 Europeans was conceived in an IKEA bed?

It was probably while they were waiting in the bl**dy queue...

The only thing different you need to buy for an Ikea King size bed is the fitted sheet.....and the Fitted sheets from Ikea are cheap. I've had a King size for the past 10 years. Comfiest bed I have ever owned, and guests have said the sam when they've stayed.

    You can't beat em! :D
