quick question(delays)

hi our flight from hurghada to manchester last weekend was delayed by 23 hours. i booked with direct holidays the flight Mytravel said they would send us details within 14 days to claim from our travel insurance. i have never claimed before any advice would be much appriciated

I thought that delays are the operators fault so you should claim compensation from the airline(mytravel) and they should have put you up in accomadation and food allowence i would also check on the compensation that is now allowed under european directives for delays to flights

yes they did put us in a hotel and fed u8s an evening meal and breakfast i am just not sure about the claiming and like you say the new rules that have come in

I know that we're claims conscious, but you have to established what loss you suffered.
OK, it's 23 hours out of your life, but did you lose a days pay?
You got an overnight stop, and food, so where is your loss?
Sounds unsympathetic, I know, But claims increase service costs for all of us.
