Refunds ?

I just purchased a £350 piece of equipment from a computer supplier, it was damaged when it arrived. I paid for next day delivery before 9am because I wanted the item promptly. They would not replace the item when collecting the damaged item and I was forced to purchase a 2nd one and was told a refund would be made within 7 days. I have since been told the refund will only be made within 15 days, due to their backlog. Can they do this or should they be refunding immediately. I've already notified the credit-card company and all they will do is send out forms to raise a dispute. What other recourse do I have.

contacted trading standards and was told they must refund within a reasonable time - reasonable being 14 days. Seems a bit one-sided to me when they can take immediate payment, send damaged goods and not refund for another 2 weeks ! I'll think twice before using this company again !

Agree with you, however TS are wrong, (there is no legal definition of the term "reasonable time"), under DSR they have up to 30 days to refund; -
14 (3) The supplier shall make the reimbursement referred to in paragraph (1) as soon as possible and in any case within a period not exceeding 30 days beginning with the day on which the notice of cancellation was given.
