it's quite convenient to add other bank accounts in egg.com and view all of them in a webpage. is it relatively safe?

I've been using egg money manger for a few years without problems. However I am well aware that should anything happen as a result of giving egg my security information that my other accounts will not be too chuffed with me.
I am sure egg give a guarantee against the scenario that your other organisations refuse to help should any fraud arise due to using egg money manager.0 -
In theory it is safe because the passwords are not given to Egg, they are kept encrypted on your PC. As long as you keep your PC protected you should be ok. I've never heard of anyone having a problem because of the Money Manager. I use it and feel comfortable with it.0

I have seen some T&Cs which specifically exclude the company from liability for fraud if you use these tools0

used to use a similar system offerey by First Direct... but found that there were accounts I had with institutions that weren't listed...
so someone here at MSE pointed me to ewise (can't post link) - which is the site of the software authors and has more account options (and good support too)...
all the account info remains on the pc... there's even an option to work using a profile stored on a usb stick...0 -
Ive had no problems with it - have noticed more T&C's stating they will not be liable if you are defrauded through this type of service but its no different from using your PC to access your other accounts directly. The details are still encrypted on your PC. If someone can access your details on Egg they can access them not on Egg0

... and other organisations have no way of knowing if you use such products. Accountunity is the name of the ewise service (which powers Egg) - far better.0

I also use ewise, having ditched Egg Money Manager as it was often unavailable and couldn't store passwords on a USB stick like ewise can.

I’ve been using Egg ‘Money Manager’ for well over 5 years and never had a problem, in fact I’d be lost without it now
As stated here, its very safe as a/c details are stored locally on your hard drive, my only 'gripe' is that they aren’t adding any new institutions only repairing the existing ones even though there’s a pull down request to add more but they never do.
Also, it only works with Microsoft Internet Explorer :@(0
