Probably the silliest question on here........ but I am looking to change my old (very big and bulky) crt monitor to a flat screen one, have seen one on ebay but it does not come with the cables- will my existing cables (power and pc-to-monitor) work with this new monitor or will I need to buy new ones?
thanks
Jim
Also does anyone know where I can buy a new keyboard with the old style connector rather than the usb connection (and what that connection is called)
thanks

Any flat screen monitor should come with the cables
Connectors called PS2 and should be available at PC world etc:idea:0 -
You can also pick up USB->PS2 adaptors for both keyboard & mouse, just in case you pick up a USB model that you like.Where there's a will, there's a way to get something cheaper from somewhere else!!

Short answer, yes.
Your power cable will be a 13A IEC (kettle plug) which will be the same on the CRT and LCD. Your signal cable will be VGA (15 pins in 3 rows of 5 pins) which the LCD monitor will almost certainly have.
PS2 Keyboards and mice are still readily available from most places.Don't pay off your student loan quicker than you have to.0 -

Except that the OP says that the one he's interested in doesn't.
Your existing monitor probably has a standard VGA 15-pin connector, but beware - many CRT monitors have cables that are hard-wired, so you may not have a cable to re-use. Ask the Ebay seller what connectors (usually standard VGA or DVI) the screen has, or you may find you end up with the wrong type (for example if it only has a DVI connector).0 -
