You did the right thing ignoring the "Control Panel". It is a fake that pretends you are infected to persuade you to install their software, which you would soon regret!
Normally the padlock symbol only shows for the login screen, it tends to disapear after that.
Make sure you only ever type in the web address yourself or use the one stored in your bookmarks. Never click on a link from an email as it may take you to a fake website designed to look like your sign on screen.
If you are worried you should check with your bank.0 -
ive checked on my internet security and it seems key loggers are getting blocked everytime i go onto my bank site. but not on some of my other accounts. ive never checked the history of this on my norton so is this normal that they are always getting blocked or is it from something to with what i said about the downloading in my previous thread as i did click on something re the fake page but it said i needed to download something again cause the virus was still there. i didnt do as asked and deleated what was already on my system and did a scan and checked live updates and everything came back as ok. also the padlock did reappear a couple of times on the pages just now but has now gone again. i guess aslong as my antivirus is blocking any keyloggers then everything is ok?0

So you did install something from the fake control panel on that web page? That was a mistake and deleting it may not have removed it from your system.
While your anti-virus should protect you I suggest you read about real free anti-malware programs on this thread in the Techie Forum.
The keylogger messages are a concern but may well be a false alarm. My work laptop has Kaspersky anti-virus which mistakes the keyboard driver for a key logger.
I suggest running the anti-Malware program described in that thread as a precaution, and maybe the other steps described too.0 -
strange thing is thought im getting the keylogging attempt on sites such as message boards that have nothing to do with money and accounts but not on other boards. is there a a way of getting rid of this or do u just have to keep blocking them. do they effect all comps in this way by just looking for comps that arent protected by antivirus0

If your AV is detecting keyloggers, you've got a problem - post a thread in the techie section. I wouldn't go anywhere near a banking site until it is resolved.0

I agree.
You might want to post this in the techie forum for some advice on dealing with this.
Maybe refrain from doing online banking or other important things for a while. If you must then try using the On Screen Keyboard. Click Start then Run and type in OSK, as far as I know keyloggers won't/can't log this (but I may be wrong).....0 -

even thought it seems to be picking them up on vertually any site even ones that arent banking releated? couldnt it be whats just posted below? The keylogger messages are a concern but may well be a false alarm. Could be (never heard of this false positive myself - you need to post more details), more likely that you are infected though. Not really something to be ignored.0

I don't think you should hang around discussing whether or not you have a problem. Head over to that thread I provided a link for and find out one way or another. It doesn't cost anything.0
