Hi all!
Wondered if any of you lovely people may be able to help me!
I really really REALLY like these invites:
http://www.cardlab.co.uk/tate.html
However (sigh), having recently been made redundant, I can’t really justify spending £5 per invite…..
I wondered if anyone had seen anything similar but at a more favourable price?
Any help would be very much appreciated

yep very easy to make, goto your local craft store, usally you can ask them to make them for you but at a price, probably cheaper than those ones, or you could ask them what stuff you need and if you buy in bulk from a local store you can always try ask for a discount because of the amount your buying, possible 10% if your lucky enuf, if not well its worth asking!
remember.. if you dont ask!, you dont get. lol:exclamati:female:choose life, choose to save money, choose to search higher and lower, choose martin lewis and rock the F**k on!! \\mm// :female::exclamati0 -

You may even surprise yourself - some card, ribbon and some fancy type font on your computer and you're done!!

They would be very easy to make - you need card, a fancy font on your computer, some ribbon and some double sided tape to not only stick the wordy bit to the card but also the ribbon.
Have a go, you will be amazed at what you can do.0 -
I completely agree, have a go at making them yourself. I've made my own and was so pleased when we were invited to a friends wedding, who's invites were bought and printed professinally, yet her's were flimsy thin!
In preperation for making mine, i went to a local craft shop and bought some pearlescent card in 3 or 4 different colours, to try things out. I typed the wording and put each line in a different font and different colour, so i only had to print once on each colour card, to decide on colour of card, font colour and font style. I spent under £1 on my trials. In the end i bought 1 ream of pearlescent cream paper and printed them all myself. For an extra touch we bought a wax seal, personalised for us, off the net and used gold hot glue gun sticks. I borrowed the glue gun off my Mum. We couldn't have spent more than £40 and i've got half a ream left, which i can use for thank you letters.
Good luck!0 -
Hi all,
Thanks very much for your suggestions – really appreciate you taking the time to reply.
I’ll definitely look into making my own, hopefully there will be some kits that aren’t too time consuming. I’m trying to balance organising the wedding with job searching.
Inc – I love the idea of having the wax seals and making matching thank you cards. Oh, I feel a new hobby coming on!
Thanks again,

Can you order a sample of the one you like from the company so you can see it made up?0
-
yes ordering a sample is worth it. I ordered one with the design I wanted to 'borrow' for my invites and it was the best £3 I spent😁0

Looks fairly straightforward to make - maybe worth popping into the card making thread and asking their opinions in there as well?Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0
