Hi
I am visiting cardiff for a weekend later this month.
Can anyone suggest some nice places for a night out - meal and few drinks?
We are staying at innkeepers lodge at Whitchurch so will be taxi into centre. Any recommendations for things to see and do on a budget much appreciated.
Many thanks

what type of things are you into?

Mary Street has the majority of Clubs on it personal recomendations would be Reflex - 80's Bar, Walkabout - Cheesy Pop, Lava Lounge, Flares- 70's club.
The bay is lovely and has lots of nice resteraunts such as pearl of the orient, pizza express etc theres something for everyone.
In the city centre you have favourites like AH HA's, Slug & Lettuce, Las Iguanas etc.
Enjoy the city its lovely!2010 Wins: Benecol Bag For Life, £150 FCUK Voucher, Rimmel Foundation, L'oreal Mascara, £60 worth of hair products, £100 :j0 -
Hi
Thanks for the advice, I think Flares and Reflex it will be. Nothing like some cheesy pop!
I am looking forward to visiting the city - didn't get much further than the millenium stadium last time.

to get the night off to a cheap start there are two wetherspoons close to st mary's st where you'll find flares and reflex. the prince of wales is on the corner of st mary's st and wood st or there's the gatekeeper on westgate st.
in terms of refuelling after your wild night out you simply have to check out dorothys on chippy lane (if you look on a map you'll find it as caroline street but the locals call it chippy lane for obvious reasons - it's full of take aways). a tray of curry sauce and chips is just £2 but i promise it will be the nicest curry and chips you've probably ever tasted!
or if you want a meal there are plenty of restaurants on that stretch. in the brewery quarter there's a nandos, chiquitos, hard rock cafe, think there's a bella itialia. on westgate st there's lots of big chains - china china, pizza express, mcdonaldspizza hut are all to be found in the direction of the castle. or at the other end of st mary's st you'll find more unique eateries. if you look on the deals sections you might find a money off voucher you can print and use.

Check out Bigcardiff website for lots of info on pubs and clubs.
