Tax credits and disability element

The point of tax credits is to help those on low incomes and those who have disabilities get back in to employment.
Dependant on your disability you may be ale to apply for DLA. You will qualify for the disabled element of WTC for the period you receive DLA.0 -
I understand that, but its pointless going back to work if you will be worse off the following year.0

I don't see that it's pointless for someone to be earning their own income - and that is not a dig at those who are on benefits, this is not what I do.
WTC helps many get back to work and build up the number of hours they can work over a period of time.
As far as I was aware the IB is because you are unable to work.
If you are able to work the IB would stop.
In this instance you would be expected to get work, the WTC gives you a top up on your earnings for a period of time.
If you wan't to discuss the policies of the benefits/welfare system you should take it to the discussion time board, if you have other questions I am happy to help.0
