Quick Question about digital radio.........

The DAB radio that is mentioned on the thread

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=160627

seems like a good deal. Can someone tell me, does DAB cut out interference ? Sometimes when I walk near my current radio it goes all funny and goes back to normal when I am not near it if that makes sense.

Any useful info when buying a digital radio would be welcomed

Thanks in advance

  • From a DAB website:

"Although the DAB signals are less prone to interference, they're currently weaker than FM signals, which can cause problems if you're in a fringe area."

As long as your area currently receives a DAB signal I'd say you'd be fine as interference is different than just a general weak signal...

If you buy the radio from Maplin Electronics, then ask when you buy if it is returnable due to weak signal. I used to work there and we had a very relaxed policy, with a 2 week returnable period as long as it's in good condition.

    In other words:

Buy the DAB radio. Make sure you don't damage ANYTHING.. test it.. then return it.

    :P good luck
