Hi All,
Looking for some techie advice please. I have heard that I can get some kind of cable which means I can watch stuff from my MacBook on the tv (bbc iplayer for example).
Does anyone know what this magic cable is called and how much it is likely to cost?
Many thanks

my mac has the dvi out as standard, but my HD projector came with a DVI to VGA converter.
so i would use this, plug the vga (or DVI if tv supports it) straight into the tv, and use a 3.5mm audio jack converter to stereo phono for the audio inputs to the tv, or surround sound system.
connectors only fit the right holes, so poke around and try, its the best way to learn!Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000

My Macbook Pro has DVI out. I have a DVI-VGA cable for hooking up to external displays and projectors and a DVI-HDMI for hooking up to HDTV.
Similar cables are available for the other Macs. It's just a case of knowing what connectors are available on the display you need to connect to and in most (not all) cases there will be a solution.
Buy cables direct from Apple - their in-store staff are really helpful if you have an Apple store nearby - or check alternative sources such as eBay.0
