Never heard of them, but I expect that they are offering cars that they don't actually own. They get you to commit to buy at xxxx price then they know what thet can buy it at.
I have just done a search thru their site and most of the stuff aint really that competetive on price.0 -
I don't like the idea that you have to give them a £75 deposit to secure a car you haven't even clapped your eyes on! They certainly won't get my business.harveybobbles wrote: »Never heard of them, but I expect that they are offering cars that they don't actually own. I've been considering buying from Carsite. They've got pages and pages of comments and pictures from buyers all saying they've had a good buying experience at a great price. so they seem genuine even if their navigator is a real pain to use the prices do seem to be really good compared to others on autotrader. I don't get how all the car supermarkets can say that they all offer the cheapest prices. At least this one lets you see the rac inspection first. Does anyone know any of the people that are on their testimonial pages?0

They say they'll give £75 back without quibble if you don't go ahead and buy the car? From what i've seen, the sites that do let you reserve the car online don't offer the reservation fee back. I don't see there's a risk if they guarantee to give it back?0

Call me cynical but you have made just two posts each one promoting the same web site0 -
I reserved a car, paid my £75 after researching it's value, glasses guide and the like and comparing local second hand garages.
I felt like I had got a good deal but after about 19 days I changed my mind and went for a much cheaper older car that my neighbour was unexpectantly selling.
I called the number on the site - explained I nolonger wanted to proceed with the sale - without question I was given a refund.
That sameday I had an e-mail confirming that I had withdrawn from the purchase and within a couple of days my refund had come too.
Whilst I didn't actually buy the car I can't fault their customer service.0 -
I bought from carsite last year. The experience was fine - visited the location, showed around the car, very friendly towards the kids. No pushy sales people etc.
The car turned out to be a dog. It was ex-leasehire and I can't really blame carsite as it was RAC inspected. It has cost me £1000's including replacing a central computer, replacing a light because the bulb had been taped to pass the MOT etc. There is no comeback on the RAC inspection.
I am sure I was just unlucky and carsite were just the broker. There doesn't seem to be much negative opinion about them from what I have seen and I think they did all they could by having the RAC inspection. An RAC inspector was in the building when I was there.0 -
Anyone got any 'updates' on using Carsite in Bedfordshire? The cars do seem cheaper... they are (according to them and of course will check) to be just ex-fleet etc. RAC inspected, HPI checked etc etc.
If I bought any car from anywhere (off the street, from a dealer...), I'd check it over the best I can (i'm no mechanic...but I can look for dents, test the clutch, look for smoke etc too)!
I am in no rush, so the fact it will take a few weeks before I can go and see the car, doesn't worry me. I can get as far as reading the RAC report, seeing the car and driving it...all the time knowing I'll get my £75 back, should I change my mind.
There is a risk whatever car you buy, from anyone...
Any distressing stories...or indeed any heart warming ones?0
