Hope this is OK to post in this Charities category as I'm trying to help a school out.
I’ve recently come back from a holiday in Southern India, during which I visited a school that was set up in the aftermath of the 2004 Tsunami. One of the things that came out of this visit was the fact that the school has now reached the stage where it would like to do a school twinning exchange with another school here in the UK.
It is in my nature to help others out and so I offered to assist them in their efforts. I am not associated with any school here in the UK and so know nothing about the process. I am wondering whether anybody has had any experience in the twinning process. Questions that initially spring to mind are:
- How do schools here in the UK find out that another school elsewhere in the world wishes to do a school exchange, ie. is there a list for such things?
- Is it worth approaching schools direct via email and how do you obtain this type of information?
If anybody’s interested, here’s a few pics of the school
