Lost all Word toolbars and menu options

Thanks to people on this forum I've got back my corrupted Internet Explorer - but now after receiving an email from school I've lost all the toolbars and menu options on our Word 2000. The email arrived with an attachment - when I clicked it instead of giving me the option of opening it or saving it to file it opened immediately.

I can open files, but there's no means of anything other than basic editing using keyboard strokes. Right clicking the mouse anywhere on the screen only brings up fonts, paragraphs and bullets.

Have tried renaming the normal.dot file normal.old to see if it defaults back to a more usable setting with no success.

Any help appreciated. Thank you.
Beckipeg :)
