Tesco say: 'Bleach is not a cleaning product'!

I received a bunch of vouchers along with my last Tesco Clubcoard statement.

One of them offered "25 extra points when £1 or more was spent on laundry or cleaning products".

However having placed a bottle of bleach (costing slightly over £1) into my basket, I was informed at the checkout that bleach "is not a cleaning product".

Oh? What is it then? And why do I squirt it around the toilet bowl?

Bestest,
ZED

Bleach is actually a biocide that can be used for cleaning but its main function is killing germs.

Tesco also think that tomatoes are not a fruit..

This coming from the company which thinks that sheep dogs shouldn't be used to herd sheep incase they get frightened. And also that OAPs should have to produce a passport or driving licence to buy alcohol.

Tesco make it up as they go along.. "Every little helps" being their motto. It applies to their advantage, not yours. ;)

Can't think why I would want to kill germs other than as part of a cleaning process.

Though no doubt Dettol would be classed as a cleaning product, with it's main tagline being that it kills 99.9% of all known germs. As Tozer said, surely killing germs is another way of saying that it cleans?

I used a 50p off when you spend £2 on fruit voucher last week. All I bought were tomatoes and reduced to 30p apples. Seems my tomatoes were fruit that day. :D

I work for Tesco, hangs head in shame.
When the coupons go through the tills they sometimes don't work, I don't know why! There is nothing the checkout operator can do, they don't have a high enough clearance. If you go to the Customer Service Desk they can do a points adjustment, clearance is higher, or refund the amount of money owed.
Now, I know what you're screaming at the screen, I don't want to queue again, why don't they work, I'm in a hurry etc, but it's the only thing you can do.
As for "every little helps", the unoffical staff whinge website drops the e, it also allows customer to query curious things and check what happens at other stores, you'd be surprised how uniform things are....not!
