eBay will always quote your ID in an email and will never ask for personal details to be updated, I get 2-3 mails a week with a link to a spoof site asking to update my account details due to eBay hackers. Its a load of rubbish.
There are so many fake e mails doing the rounds. I get several a day even to an account that I have never used for ebay or paypal!

CONTACT NET PASSPORT
Don't know if this has already been mentioned but if you've registered with net passport you can contact them and change your password back. They'll ask some security questions and then sort out a new password etc.
But hopefully ebay have sorted this out for you by now.0
