Wanted to have your opinion of St. Ives holiday park - John Fowler Holidays. It looks so good on the website. Has anyone been there? What were your experiences? Please share as I would want to book with them.

Hi we have stayed at this holiday park about 4 years ago and i can tell you,you will not be disappointed. The accomodation was basic,(but its only a base). This park has a nice indoor pool and the entertainment in the evening was good. There is also a nice restuarant on site which is pretty reasonable to eat there. We are actually going to John Fowlers in Hayle (Tolroy Manor) nr St Ives this weekend. We do prefer this park over the St Ives holiday village. By the way St Ives holiday village is situated about 6 miles out of St Ives,so a car is a must! Hope this helps. Enjoy wherever you decide to go.0 -
Thanks vodkachick68 for your views. How was your holiday at the other John Fowler?
I read reviews about the St. Ives one on Trip Advisor, etc and I'm so scared now to go there....People have mentioned that they have power cut off and dampness in rooms, etc, etc. May be the park is degraded in last few years! And unfortunately we have already booked there ;( Don;t know how our vacation would go.....0 -
Have you had your holiday yet at St Ives?
We have been there for the past few years and have never had a problem. We stay in a Trevacroft property which is brick built and I think the problem ones are the bronze value budget wooden ones.
The children love to see rabbits at night and squirrels in the morning and as it has a quiet woodland setting. No reliance should be placed on the above.0 -
it all depends which chalet you get it is a beautiful setting and if you have the right chalet then its great try for (279 its a oakleigh )0

a few years ago we we went to the john fowler park at perranporth (perranview). we booked a basic chalet, and , altho we wernt expecting anything luxurious, what we got was absolutley disgusting.
you just couldnt believe how grotty and damp it was.
i went straight round to reception to complain and there was a queue of people waiting to complain. they had no other available accomodation to move us to but told us we could go to their other park at hayle, which we did, along with 7 other families.
the accomodation at hayle was a million times nicer and we enjoyed it their.0 -
You need a car for john folwers at st ives its a fair way out from the town0

we have visited this park tho it was probably 3yrs ago.
We was in the basic wooden chalet and we suffered no probs. Yes it was dated and i think one of the doors was stiff, but nothing major.
Kids liked the pool esp the slide. The evening entertainment was normal, BUT the bit my four enjoyed the most was the fact they played childrens bingo along side the adults bingo. Both are played together, and continue until a child and an adult calls house. My kids won twice in the week and was so chuffed. Esp at not having to constantly be told shush during bingo. We always go over for bingo as that way you're guaranteed a seat for the evening shows etc.
Play park next to main entertainment bit, can't recall if we used the food outlets or not.
SHop was expensive if i recall correctly, and you definatly need a car, very isolated site.0 -

We have a car - thankfully!*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
I can't recall which park it was, but it was in Cornwall, that someone I know went to in June and she said it was the best holiday they'd ever had.
She said they were right on the edge of the park overlooking the sea, and the caravan was spotless.
She is looking at different JF parks now, for next year, and highly recommended them.
Don't know if that helps or not... :think:0
