Model plane kits: no instructions :( Help please
smashed
My dad bought some model planes as a bulk lot, but have turned up with most of them missing instructions.
They described the items missing parts where necessary, but didnt mention instructions.
Needless to say, they are the most critical part
Emailed them , but they wouldnt help stating "the bottom says sold as seen".
We hadnt seen them till they arrived,
Any ideas please
Item number is 6037705218

Hmmm, I think you're stuffed on this. They obviously haven't got the instructions and they don't mention them on the page as being included. On the other hand, they give quite detailed descriptions of each plane, even mentioning that the decals are missing on some and instructions are a fairly basic part of the kit - no instructions, no plane.
Are you wanting them to refund?I only exist in my own mind - if you can see, hear or read me, you are a product of my imagination.0 -
Buying open/second hand kits is a difficult area and if you try to chargeback via paypal I think it very likely you will lose your claim.
Whilst the listing doesn't specifically say that the instructions are missing, it doesn't say they are included either and there are none in obvious sight in the photo.
The phrase 'as seen' whilst meaningless on ebay is usually taken to mean that the seller knows the auction lot is not very good and you buy at your own risk.
I'm not really sure what to suggest to be honest apart from contacting the seller to see if he is willing to give any form of refund at all.

This is the problem. Yes, he would like a refund, and can even hand deliver it back as he is going that way next week.
The ebayer in question sells a lot of similar items, and is therefore TOTALLY aware that these items need instructions...
The fact she went to such great lengths to explain, but then omit such important info is clear that she may have just made an oversight,
But equally, it makes the buyer feel very confident that everything else should be there.Be nice0 -
Try pointing exactly those facts to them, plus the fact that your father is willing to drop them back in person? Do they have a retail shop? If so, it might be worth £15 to them not to have an irate customer in!

With ebay you always need to assume if you don't see it in a photo and you don't see it in the description then you won't get it. I think he'll have to write this one off to experience.0

If they're Airfix, some instructions here http://airfix.com/cs/shop/pdfsearch.asp - might be worth a google if other make(s)..0
