0% cards and supermarket cashback

I am currently within the '0% on purchases' period on my Barclaycard (so any parchases don't accrue interest). My question is, if I were to pay for my supermarket shopping on the Barclaycard and request some cashback, will I be charged interest on the cash? Can you even get cashback with credit cards, or does that only work with debit cards? Would using the 0% card for supermarket cashback compromise the interest-free balance in any way?

I appreciate that I would be charged interest withdrawing cash from an ATM using a credit card, so assume the same would go for supermarket cashback?

Can anybody confirm?

Can't do cashback on credit cards...

Not officially but a couple of pubs have done it for me and it's shown as a purchase.. Whether they just assumed it was a debit card I'm not sure..

Yep, some of the dodgy (or stupid) retailers do it.

If you want cash off a card balance transfer it into your current account (via Egg) at 0% APR.

Stick that into a savings account and then use a decent cashback card (which is cleared every month from you savings pot).

Make the minimum payments from your savings pot as well.

Not advisable, anyway, you don't want on of these to be treated as a cash advance, and get socked charges plus interest on it
