Tax Credits when out of work

Hello,
Am about to be out of work again. When I was made redundant 6 months ago there was no change for tax credits. Having said that I've had lots of problems with them and even written to my MP about it.
Do I presume it is calculated on yearly income and therefore it is unlikely to go up while I am out of work? Or should I receive an immediate increase?
Thanks

If you are our of work, then depending on your situation, the tax credits may actually cease. What are your current circumstances ?, do you have a partner that works ?I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
