Has anyone heard of Churches in Darwen?

Hi there, I wonder if anyone can help me. someone told me that they had heard of a furniture store in Darwen, Lancs. that offer people on benefits discounts. Is this right and if so do you know what things they offer and what benefit you must be in receipt of? I have tried searching on the net but without much luck. Many thanks.

Not much help, but a starting point.
They seen to be referred to Darwen Churches Action, and also Churches Together Darwen.

I can't find a reference to benefits, but just a reference to 'those in need'

Also, there is Freecycle.
Just go to google, and enter freecycle and the local town, you should find your local group.
The idea is to to stop useful items going to landfill just because they are no longer wanted. Items must be given freely.
You can place a 'wanted' advert, or look for what others have to gift.
