CMC, loved the pics :rotfl:
LOL at those who caught me lurking earlier, I must have disappeared just as you 'outed' me! I have been hanging out on the Techie board today as have had a real scare with DD (13) who went on Bebo without permission and ended up arranging to meet a stranger! I have been looking for ways to keep her safe online and asked for advice from those smarter than me. It has been such a shock as she is a smart student, but the minute we let her go back online although she didn't return to Bebo she was desperately trying to find the man again. It has been very frightening. Nicky, glad to see you are a bit better today, if you have any advice you can give me on this I would be very grateful. I wanted to install some keylogging type thingy, but Techies seem to think this is not a good idea????
I wondered where Toniq was when I began popping in again. I expect you too lurk, so if you read this I hope you are as well as can be and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
FE, I do hope the house works out.
Has anyone seen any comps for T4 on the beach yet this year? I won last year and it was a superb day out, so as it is not too far from me I would love to win againBut there are dreams that cannot be,and there are storms we cannot weather!0 -

Stressed - that must have been really scary. I think you can get parental control software which blocks access to some sites unless you give permission. I know I have some that comes with my broadband but I have not investigated it fully yet as my DS is not using the internet at the moment.Keep thinking positively

How scary for you, its hard at that age because they're so naive, is she in contact with him through email or phone do you know? there are things you can do to stop certain sites or track what shes upto but if they have each others numbers or email addies its hard to keep track.
I hope you get it sorted though, internet can be so useful but scary when your kids start using it for chatting! Thanks to everyone that posts :T:money:

Hiya SOD xxx I haven't really got any cure-all answer to that tbh hun as ours were that much older when social sites and IM's became so popular. (I did once find a printout of a naked woman under my keyboard in the days when we all shared 1 puter, DS and his mate had found it and printed it then couldn't think of anywhere more clever to hide it than under the keyboard! DOH!! :rotfl::rotfl:)
The best advice I could give is to have the tightest parental security on there possible and to be honest, keep an eye on her, if she's that determined to still look for this guy then she's not listening to you. Can you find some horror stories from the news that you could show her? I know it sounds a bit harsh but it may be better than anything you can say to her. There was a little girl recently met up and ran away with a much older guy and he turned out to be a convicted rapist. Some kind of shock tactic like that may just do the trick. You may think I'm mad suggesting that, so apologies if it's not your way hunxx
That ain't working! That's the way to do it, money for nothing and TV's for free0 -
