  • Move in sometime early June, as yet to sign the agreement. VERY EXCITED. Going to be very poor for the next few months as I've got a holiday coming up in 2 weeks as well. Bad planning I think!

Im in a similar situation. We have found a lovely 2 bed apartment put £425 (holding fee) on it and have handed all our forms in with references and are just waiting. The LA asked for a guarentor and said that they ask for guarentors with all there lettings for 1st 6 months?? Is this usual??

No not at all usual, Ive never been asked for a guarantor and Ive rented for years...

Cant beleive they get a guarantor for every first 6 month contract, it would mean a whole load of paperwork they dont necessarily need...
  • It would also mean a lot of people don't get the houses they apply for, there was no one at all I could get to be a gurantor. It's a big commitment.

Good luck! I move in to my new house in 23 days (and counting!)

I was so worried about the credit score and we passed with no problems. Since then I've been refused credit on a sofa at Harveys so I'm reckoning estate agents aren't so strict.
