As I have never been in this situaton before having obtained employment with in weeks for leaving a job etc. I am quite concerned about what happens when the contributions part ends as my spouse works more than 24 hours per week.
I will still be actively looking for work in the meantime but the loss of the £62.50 per week although it was not much was just enough for us to keep out heads above water and paying debts.
Can any one advise on out best course of action when the contributiosn based allowance ends? Do I still carry on signing on although I will get nothing but it will cost me to go to the centre every two weeks to sign on?

If you carry on signing you'll get your NICs paid and may be eligible for jobseeking help.0

If you have debts, get help from CAB, CCCS or payplan to make a more reasonable monthly payment. Also ask CAB or your local council's welfare rights department to do a benefit check for you.

I am on a debt management plan with CAB at present which is why we have only just been able to keep our heads above water however this was based on a monthly JSA income of £240 and with that gone we will be a bit deeper in the proverbial hows your father!.
I am not sure what an NIC is unless you mean National Insurance Contribution. I hate being out of work as it is so boring at home especially after 5 months. I can't even get a job as a clerk as I am now over qualified and I am told I would soon get bored! All I want is an income.0 -
NIC = National Insurance Contribution0
