I use Freerip, but you could just use Media Player (assuming you're using Windows). Whichever you use rip the tracks to MP3s on your computer. Then burn them on a disc as a data disc. That wiull allow you to get lots of CDs onto one CD to play in the car. This assumes that your car will actually play MP3s, have you checked it will? It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends

I use this but its not free http://www.poikosoft.com/ it uses lame to encode which is one of the best MP3 encoders I encode at 320kbps (a higher bit rate) and then burn onto CD with nero http://www.nero.com/eng/index.html making sure you close the session. I play these on my pen drive on my car stereo which also plays CD's MP3's
Any cd writing software will do just burn as a data disc0 -
I use winamp

The free version of Winamp does not allow you to rip audio CDs to mp3 and will only burn CDs at 2x write speed.miss_corerupted wrote: »i have winamp as well i didn't know it could do that!!! how would i use trhat?
The Pro version does ripping and 48x speed burning but costs $19.95 (about £14?).
Windows Media Player 11 allows you to rip from audio CD to mp3 then burn those mp3s to a (data) CD.
A CD will hold around 150 mp3s depending on bitrate (i.e. the quality) and track length (i.e. how long each song is).0 -
i'm now having a go with freerip. i will reprt back when i try it in the car

Try prefixing with numbers e.g. - 01_filename.mp3, 02_filename.mp3 etc
edit - If the files are in folders do the same with the folder name - 01_story_book1, 02_story_book2...
I think Windows burns data CDs in alphabetical order regardless and numbers come before letters.0
