Storing pics onto Websites

I am planning to store some of our family pics onto the web so that our friends and relatives can view them. Can anyone suggest a reliable website for this purpose, preferably with more data storage??

I use Flickr, and it's excellent.

How much storage? 1-2GB free is easy, but if you need more storage you'll have to pay. I use smugmug.com which costs US$39/year but is excellent with unlimited storage and bandwidth. I have some public galleries for friends and family to view, but I also use the private gallery to store every single digital picture I have ever taken so that I never lose one due to computer crash. Right now I think I'm using something like 25GB on SmugMug.

SmugMug operate a referral scheme so new customers can get a discount on their first year and referrers get discount off their next renewal.

Facebook, you are pretty limited to size around 600 pixels square and everyone will need to have either an account or be given a sharing link, but unlimited storage for free.

Go sign up for a free account on Flickr.

With the free account, you're limited to 100 MB bandwidth a month and a max size of 10 MB per picture.

If you don't like it, no problem. You can try something else.

If you do, you can upgrade to a Pro account which removes the above restrictions for $24.95 a year (about £17).

Google Picasa isn't bandwidth limited, but the free account is only 1Gb of space, but you can purchase chunks of additional space for not a lot more.

But as Marty says, these are all free, so signed up and try.

Or use Google and search for others. The two best are Flickr and Picasa - you won't find anything better.
