Has anyone heard of Nicholas Millington dresses? And if so, what have you thought of them? The quality and stuff?
This brand of dress is available through Littlewoods Direct, so you can order, try on at home, and see what you think. And they are really reasonable.
Here's a link... to all the dresses and here is the dress I like
Thanks
Kelda
Ps Linda - on the dress I like a review mention that the netting under the dress is a bit creased, so they's advise getting it professionaly ironed out .. how would you do that!?

Ironically, I was looking at this site yesterday - very reasonably priced and as you can always return it, you've nothing to lose. I've bookmarked it for closer to the time of my wedding...Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0

Hi Kelda,
I bought a Nicholas Millington dress I think about 2 years ago, it wasnt a wedding dress just a Party dress but I absolutely love it! The quality is amazing and it looks gorgeous.
I got mine from Additions direct.
Hope this helps
Thanks

Hi Kelda,
I think they look lovely, and if you can return them without hassle then you have nothing to lose?

yeah the three stockist seems to be Additions, Littlewoods and Marshall Ward so all catalogue companies.... it might be worth a whirl to see what they are like!0

This sems the way to go for a lot of ladies at the moment. It's a bit like the BHS range they offer off the peg. Great quality and affordable prices plus the benefit of try before you buy.
Kelda, I iron anything lol. Net is quite easy to iron on a cool to moderate setting. If at all in doubt place a sheet or tea towel between fabric and iron. I stress, this is how I do it and because I know MY iron and it's settings.
The best way to press a gown is to keep it on a hanger. Place the hanger on a doorframe leaving the dress to hang. Then, little buy little, press the gown. Small movements. I have a special hook in the ceiling with a length of cord looped over. I hang the gown from that and it spins freely as I move the gown around.
Ifd you are in any way doubtful then ask a dry cleaners if they provide this service.0 -
Thanks Linda for the advice!
....so you use your normal iron to press while its hung up.. I guess you use the steam setting?0 -

Not all the time. Some fabrics will stain from the water. I wouldn't advise steam unless you know what you are doing?0 -
i bought a nicholas millington dress for my wedding in september - dahlia (i thought it was fate as its the same as my username lol!!
) and im really pleased with it! i was worried about buying them as some people had left feedback on the Littlewoods website that they were badly made, but i honestly think its very well made!
if you are buying it from Littlewoods make sure to check the site for money off codes - I got £30 off mine!!

ooh thanks daleigha for that tip.
I did notice that the marshall ward website was considerable cheaper than littlewoods for example, on marshall ward the dress I like is £215, on Littlewoods its £250 so thats a £35 saving.
And Iwanttobefree's beautoful bridesmaids dresses are £99 on littlewoods and£69 on marshall ward, so £20 saving per dress. For me since I'm having 4 adult bridesmaids that would be £80.0
