How to stop Gmail being default email client on Vista?

Hi all

Got my new laptop (previously a laptop virgin!) a few days ago and seem to be getting the hang of it but have one problem ...

When i click a mailto link, gmail appears as my default email client. I prefer to use my hotmail address which I have set up on Windows Live Mail. Confusing thing is that I have set Windows Live mail as my default client but it's just not being recognised and Gmail continues to appear? What do I do? I'm a Firefox user if that makes a difference to resolving the issue?

Never mind! I have now fixed it thanks to the lovely people at mozillazine.org ;D

enter "about:config" into the firefox location bar and search for a preference called "network.protocol-handler.external.mailto". it should be set to "true" - if it isn't, then change it to true (via double-clicking it) and see if that helps
