  • Nice one Sportbilly it's reassuring to see others happy with this product.
  • This Post office deal (and the fact it's being withdrawn on April 27th) has been playing on my mind all weekend.

My question is, on the fee free 4.35 fix, at what point would I have to start paying something?
At what point would I be expected to pay the deposit etc?

I'm not QUITE ready to move on a mortgage yet BUT I'm wondering if this really is 'fee free' if I could secure the product this week and hold it for a few months to see which way the market goes.

    Would this work?

I had the valuer round yesterday(4.35% PO deal), just waiting now to see if I make the 75% though he said there "shouldn't" be a problem.

If everything's ok my next problem is telling my IFA I won't be going with the 4.99% Abbey deal he arranged, he won't be happy but what can you do??

How long did it take between completing the applications online & the valuation visit taking place, just out of interest?

Similar with me. I had valuer out yesterday just over a week since i did the full application online.

Valuer seemed very fair as well. Co-op valued my house at £100,000 approx 15 months ago so i used that value on the application.

Was a bit worried value might have dropped a fair bit since last year, but the valuer had good look round yesterday and agreed that was a fair value. Told me there wouldn't be a problem being under 75% LTV.
  • Can someone explain to me why the post office is sending a someone around to value and the A & L refuse to?

They texted me this morning to say It's all approved, offer is in the post.:j

With the offer being valid for 6 months does anyone know if it would cause a problem in any way if I completed as late as possible? (currently on 2.5% SVR)

I had this conversation with legal advisor who called yesterday, I have asked her to put a completion date of 300909 on and its has been done with no problems.. I have also heard that once offer in place you may be able to delay the drawdown date further, this info came from C and G adviser so I may look at that also nearer the time

    Hi,

Wonder if anyone can give me an idea of how long it should take to get mortgage approved from Post Office? I did the full application online on 17th April, got a txt yesterday saying they had instructed the valuation, anyone have any idea how long it usually takes for them until the valuation is done? And how long after this until they approve (or reject) application?

    many Thanks

Quick for me as well. Called me monday to arrange valuation, had that done tuesday evening, text to say accepted yesterday morning and received paperwork this morning. Quite impressed by them.
  • Made an online application for the 4.15% deal late last Friday evening. Received notification of approval on Wednesday and the valuer came today (Friday). Very efficient.
  • Heres your answer:-

When you make the formal application online you have to pay the survey fee there and then!!! You have no choice!!!

Obviously you are not committed to the loan until you sign on the dotted line but you have committed your (in my case) £270.

    Hope this helps.

Can anyone tell me when at what point you're asked to pay the £270 survey fee!?
I've just completed the full application online which has been accepted.
I was expecting to be directed to some kind of payment page at the end, but wasn't!

Do they perhaps take the fee direct from the bank account details I provided?
