REDC - Did you go?

  • Same position as Lce1980. We had an agreed sale and the seller backed out to put the house into the REDC sale. We bid highest and were told we had the house povisionally. (Even with the 11.5% added on this was below our original price). We have heard nothing since, although we have spoken to REDC twice and e-mailed them once, we still don't know if we are purchasing the property. This is now considerably over the five day option period. The contact number for REDC is 0800 01 94 999, and they have an e-mail contact on their web site.

Yes a worthy story, but I would do everything possible to find out if it was sold to you at your lower bid before admitting that you are still prepared to pay more than your provisional bid.

It's surprising that REDC offers no line of communication to the recorded provisional bidders! Have you tried contacting the lenders (sellers) directly? They will be named in the HIP.

You're not counting weekend days and bank holiday days as part of your "6 days" are you?

Yep we counted 5 working days, i have also called them and emailed them and no reply, what is worse is the 17k deposit has now left my account and we have still not been told anything!!

We have had some contact with the guardian newspaper as i told them about our story pre auction so i will follow it up but i think we'll wait until we have the house (or not!!).

I'm about to call the very unhelpful call centre again (they constantly tell us they can not do anything apart from take a message, we are yet to have our calls returned!!!)

Keep us informed, and if you still don't know phone the sellers directly, probably a mortgage company.
  • Hi there, anyone know how the uk online auction part of this auction company works, it says on there it has another two days to run on most of it's properties.
Also any news of your deposits yet, kindest regards.
