MP3 saying 'LOCKED' ?

I bought a small MP3 from a car boot sale, and when you switch it on it says ALBA on the screen, then says LOCKED and immediately turns itself off.

I have tried formatting it which appeared to be successful, but its still saying 'LOCKED'.

Anyone know what's wrong with it?

Is it that the buttons are locked so you can't accidently press them?

At the right hand side of the player is the lock switch, simply push down to lock the player so that you can't accidentally press play when it's in your pocket/around your neck. Likewise push up the way to unlock it.

There is a slide on the side that says 'Hold' and I've tried that, so I dont think so.

Can you download a user manual from their website?

Alternatively, does it have a reset button? (often a tiny hole into which yoy push a paperclip)
