Oh blimey, so sorry to hear this Judy, unfortunately it may be another case of complaining here, if this is not going to help you, and you did not request for this.
The CAB should help you directly with these cases by getting in touch with the bank themselves, but other than that, you could write to them (the bank), and tell them your not happy with this situation and if they do not resolve this matter, you will have to take matters further.

This is another situation the financial ombudsman can look at but it may take some time, unless you request for fast tracking on financial hardship, where they may look into this case quicker for you.

But right now if you have a local Citizens advice give them a call and tell them this is urgent and your in need of help with this case.

Good luck hun, hope they sort this out for you, its just not fair they treat you this way.

    Hi Judy1
It certainly does sound very positive. Just send them the information you have e.g. pension etc. If you are in any doubt about things pop along to your local CAB who may be able to help you as well. Really pleased it is getting sorted out it must be a huge weight of your mind.

OMG it keeps getting worse here. I really hope this gets sorted for you. Have you tried posting the bit about the mortgage decreasing policy on the Mortgage thread. There may be people over there who may be more au fait with this type of thing.
