I have a Sky+ HD setup and have cancelled my Sky subscription. I receive all the free channels and have subscribed to Setanta. My question is can I receive Freesat with my Sky receiver or do I need another box and if so how do I go about it and is there any advantage over what I have now

As far as I am aware you are effectively getting the freesat channels already, the one you wont get is the part time ITV 'red button' HD channel. Setanta is only available on the Sky Platform, Virgin Media or Freeview/Top up TV.

Yes you can receive Freesat via your box & dish, just make sure you don't throw away your viewing card. IIRC, Sky charge £10-£20 for a new card.
I'm pretty certain you won't get HD though.
You could always look into getting the other Freesat (the one from BBC & ITV with the following logo...
I cancelled my Sky last month and have been using the HD box for the BBC/ITV Freesat. It is a straight swap for the Sky box. I personally prefer it because when I'm channel hopping, I don't see all the channels I don't get i.e Sky Sports etc. I do miss the Paramount comedy channel though, although I didn't get it after I downgraded my Sky package to the free to view/air channels.0 -
If you cancel Sky completely, you lose the facility to record/playback. If you want to retain that you MUST say so at the time of cancelling and insist on paying the £10 per month fee.0

Thanks I didn't know that. Bit late now though.0
