If it wasn't for wars we wouldn't have such advanced medical knowledge

I'm sure the families of the dead on both sides will find comfort in your distinction.

    How low can you go??

Clinton had a little one to distract from 'that woman'
Tony had one because he wanted to prove something about NuLabour.
Thatcher engineered one to win an election.
Bush 1 fooled Saddam into taking Kuwait for reasons I haven't bothered researching.

There are very very few 'honest' wars - country defends itself or stands up for another one - for instance.

Oh and perhaps the 'best' was Vietnam of course. People support a government the US don't like. Bad mistake. US loses for once. Hurrah!

Before my time..... but yes I'm sure something did come from those camps.

The GPS in people cars etc came from war. But I'm sure people are still happy to use it....even though GPS's are used to assist in killing people.

Well does it really matter if people died in a needless war or a needless aftermath? They are still dead, and it's still needless.

Apologies, I don't really want to get in to this debate as I have nothing but repspect for people who join the forces and serve their country so this isn't me having a knock at them. They are doing I job I wouldn't and couldn't do because I'm not brave enough to do it.

But the 'Operation Iraqi Freedom' campaign is a cr*ck of !!!! that never should have occurred and tens of thousands of innocent people were killed. That's what I THINK is the truth.

As I said what we are told are very different to the reason we actually went to war.....

i know this. hitler had a reason to go to war - were the german troops individually to blame for fighting in it (and many laying down their lives in the process?).

the wars we are fighting now are equally unjustified.

There's no way that figure is really 44% anyway. Look at the source - 'The friends Committee on National Legislation', a pacifist Quaker group.

The figure is high though, just not *that* high.
