Olan mills Photography

Options
Olan Mills have reduced their Family portaits from £20 to £10

you get 6 8x10cm photos to put in a card photo album which comes in a box with a small teddy.

We went at weekend and they take loads of shots and you just pick the 6 you like best - we went with SIL and neice and had a combination of shots taken, my family, SIL & family. all of us, just the grandkids.

I bought a £10 family portraits box while there cos i got told i could makee appt at a later date - so i can have mine and sis kids photo taken as pressie for my mum.

They said appt would have to be this week in order to have them for xmas.

They also charge a £2 admin fee on top - supposed to be P&P but SIl was charged tho she's picking hers up in store.

I don't know if you have to book your appt by so long of buying box.
I was going to ask today but am not going to get into town-
:(

There was also a shoot - forgot what called where your make-up done for you reduced from £50 to £25.

My store was Doncaster but there are 70 around country

They used to have a good offer for kids photos, worked at about £20 for 4 photos 8x10” over 1 yr. Good quality professional photos. Also if you recommend them 7 phone numbers to call, you got a free upgrade to a 10x11” on last photo sitting, and Mrs chipz got a free photo makeover.

    Worth asking them.

Just checked the website now its gone up to £27.00 but still good value.

check your prints carefully though. I had used the £17.50 offer for 4 sittings and 4 prints over 12 months. I managed to spin this out for 2 years and had pictures every 6 months instead of 3. These were always fine but when I ordered a set of 8 prints for a special occasion (£80) the parcel on delivery to my home had been opened and the photos taken out - there were figure marks/dents in the corner. OM did replace and I asked for delivery to the store. Again 1 of the big prints had white specks on. Took 6 mths to sort out but did get a free voucher for another large print with no expiry date.

Been in today to make the appt for mine and sisters kids for after Christmas - need to allow 28 days for your pics to be developed.

Bought neice a make-over magic for her 14th birthday in Jan reduced from £50 to £25-
she gets a mini make -over and 2 8x10 portraits.

asked how long you have from purchasing box to having photo shoot and was told a year - so you could buy at reduced price now and make an appt later on in 2005 ready for next years presents :D
  • I hope you have a long and happy relationship with this outfit. They used to be well known for persistently ringing up every six months to entice you back for another set of photos and were suspected by friends as the source of every piece of junk mail known to man. You might want to make sure they won't give your details to anyone else....
    Wins - 2004: Nothing, 2005: Zip, 2006: Nil, 2007: Zero, 2008: Naught, 2009: You get the picture

This is the "Clubplan" that you refer to, and as far as I am aware is available throughout the year, they drop the price occasionally to pump sales, you get four sittings spread over a year and receive one photograph from each sitting included in the original purchase price, this is an excellent deal if you have young children or a group you need a quality photograph for.

Of course they will try to sell extra's that's where they make their money but if you stick to the offer it's an absolute bargain.

If you do get called find out the price of the offer and then tell them to call back when its on reduced offer, as I said they drop the price occasionally throughout the year and deals like the one above are not uncommon.

As for being pestered by phone calls they are members of TPS "Telephone preference service " if you don't want them to call simply tell them and you shouldn't receive more than the occasional call from a new member of staff or if you are referred by someone.

If you have any problems with the prints you receive they will bend over backwards to resolve it for you so bargain hard and you will end up with a happy ending.
Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.

Together we can make a difference.

Same thing happened to me for about 3 years. It drove the hell out of me!!! No matter who I spoke to who promised to take me off the mailing list it was never done. I spoke to the head office more than once requesting to be taken off the system, and they still kept ringing me asking me if I wanted more photographs taken of my children. I got so rude in the end, but it was frustration.

Only when I changed my phone number did the phone calls stop. I would never ever give Olan Mills my phone number again.
