I think that if you're intending to sell today then I would accept the highest offer that I could get and consider myself lucky as who knows how low the offers could be in 6 months time? Depending on what area its is or the type of property, terrace/flat the value could fall by half depending on if there is a demand or a nice area. I have seen Flats and FTB type victorian terraces houses shoot up in value in the past 2 years prior to the peak and now they are even not selling at 50% of todays valuations. I would take the money while you can rather than wait for the bottom and get peanuts for it. 2004 prices may be too high in the next 6 months, don't take risks.

thanks to those on here who gave honest, genuine and polite replies
i assure everyone my post wasnt a wind up, something must have been lost in translation, iam not sure what is wrong in being worried about selling a property for a low price and then worried that prices might rise before i can buy again i.e. 6 months. however maybe that is foolish. Obviously as we are selling we are hoping the market will continue drop, several months ago all were predicting this, now it is less clear, in fact many are suggesting rises. who really knows?

I note a message on the right hand side here asking people to be nice, pity everyone doesnt stick to that, i would certainly think twice before posting on here again (even though i have done for several years previously).

for info, our sale exchanged today and will complete next week so we will obviously be proceeding as planned
