Agreed fuel expense is a factor, also the auto option is more expensive too and not too many around.
I think in this country we are used to driving manual cars since cars were introduced. Auto I think only came about in luxury cars.
If I were a learner now I would still learn to drive a manual as this skill is useful to have further down the line.
Most people still prefers to drive a manual because I guess its engaging for them. Autos are slower, burns more fuel and cost more to buy. However, more and more people are beginning to get autos now as they want less hassle and to relax while driving.
I am not into racing anyone, auto is great for me.0 -
my dad has just bought a peugeot 406 automatic diesel granted this is probobly too big but it was an ex motability car, which network Q Ford and peugeot do a lot of trade in.
I love my 206 and they do an aoto in it, have a look on their web site peugeot.co.uk and if you go onto the advanced search you can specify transmission type and see what autos they have in.0 -
Hi there, I work for a car dealer, we have just bought in 10 x Smart For Four Auto's 1.3's. All with Air-Con, remote locking etc etc etc. They are all 05 plates and are £6990 with remainder of Mercedes warranties and breakdown cover. They all retur 55mpg.
