Switching to EDF via Energylinx?

I've decided to switch my electricty from Ebico to EDF saving me [strike]£240[/strike] £180 a year :T

Has anyone used Energylinx to switch companies before? If so, did it all go smoothly?

ETA: Beware if you are an existing Ebico customer using Energylinx to do a comparison as it's come to my attention they are using the older inflated prices from Ebico (pre April '09) therefore their savings table is wrong!

In my case they estimated I would save £60 a year more than I actually will!

Be careful, I don't think you'll get any cashback with energylinx for only switching electricity.

The reason being (and possibly why you had trouble with the ebico equidual rather than equipower tariff), is that using the cashback link above requires you to move both fuels to be eligible:
The £17 cash-back is per transfer, as follows:
Dual transfer to one supplier = £34
Separate gas and electricity to separate suppliers = £34
Separate gas and electricity to the same supplier = £17
    http://www.energylinx.co.uk/cashback/terms.htm

Nothing about any cashback for only switching one fuel, hence why you get taken automatically to a page that asks about both gas & electricity.

I would try a different switching site if you want cashback for only switching electricity.

  • Hi there.
I have used energylinx for the switching of gas and electricity recently.
The transfer has finished at the end of October and I received a confirmation letter early Nov.
I have just forwarded a copy this letter to them today via email as an attachment.
Hopefully they will give me the cash back as they have advertised.
    I will keep you posted.

Surely most people would use a Cashback Site for higher Cashback or have I missed something.

http://www2.quidco.com/edf-energy/ 50.00/80.00 which TCB will match upon a HCP claim and pay min 1% more until xmas. :T

This thread is over 7 months old.

Not sure what deals, if any, the cashback sites were offering back then.

I used energylinx to transfer, dual fuel. Changeover has gone smoothly but still haven't received my cashback after emails, (they have never received!!!), phonecalls even live chat. They have just asked me to send proof by freepost. Which now means i have to make a photocopy somewhere. Not as easy as i thought it was going to be. Fingers crossed.

Hi, further to my previous post, they have asked for my bank details for the cash back transfer. However I am still waiting after I gave them the details a few weeks ago. :(
Has anyone actually got any cash back from them successfully in the past?? Anyone???
  • Forgot to add:

The cash back offer by Energylinx is still on their website:

    www . energylinx/cashback

 Any money saver out there are still waiting for cash back from them?
  • Latest update:
