We have storage heaters throughout the house and in 2 of our bedrooms we have Sopac Thermostats on the walls. They were here when we moved in, I have never touched them or taken much notice of them, so what would they be used for?

I would think they are relics of an earlier heating system??0

Possibly, but now i'm interested. There has never been a gas central heating system, so what system could it have been? Would it be safe to remove them ourselves, or do we need a specialist to do it?0

We lived in a house that had electric ceiling heating. Each room had a thermostat (1-6 I think).0

We currently live in a flat with electric ceiling heat (absolutely flaming useless - I just don't understand the point of ceiling heaters... I mean heat rises doesn't it??). Anyway each room has a very antiquated thermostat, so this might indeed be what they are.0
