original claim was around £1200
sent 1 letter claiming financial hardship (lone parent, being chased by creditors including barclays, lost my job....)
they replied to say they will look into it by 1st april
i expected either a phone call to do a financial assessment or a form to fill in, like others on the board but nothing
today i get a cheque for £523 and a letter saying they agree, based on the info available, that i am in financial hardship. the only info is what i told them and the fact that i owe them £120!
am very pleased with this as expected more of a fight!
wonder if i would have got more had i filled in forms though. they say in the letter this is their final word on it and my hardship claim is now closed so i disagree they refer me to FOS etc
now.... do i disagree and try for more via FOS or do i bank the cheque and let the interest on the other half of claim rack up till they hopefully have to refund that too....
hmmmm think i will bank the cheque as to be fair i have just got a new job to start in 2 weeks and should FOS or anyone want to look at my bank statements in future it will show wages going in...
