This really grates with me on IE. It used to happen to me every time I opened a PDF. I'm not sure what you are doing every time it has to close as this can be quite a common occurance. For me, I uninstalled Adobe PDF reader and then reinstalled. This fixed my problem, yours could be anything really

You could see if it closes every time you do the same thing (like when I opened a PDF).

I'll get this next bit in before any unhelpful people just tell you to use Firefox! Have you tried Firefox? It is slightly weird at first, nothing major though. You could give it a try if IE annoys the hell out of you and you can't fix it.

    Reset internet explorer

    1. Open Internet Explorer.
    2. Click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
    3. Click the Advanced tab.
    4. Under Reset Internet Explorer Settings, click Reset.

    if that doesnt work ~

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD NOW')

    UPDATE and FULL SCAN
Post the log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds

    reboot

Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click DO A SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE (Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)

Start trouble shooting by opening IE in No Add On's mode by going to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools and click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons. If everything seems to be working as it should do then you have an add on which is causing you problems.

To find out which particular one is going to be a case of trial and error, by opening IE normally and going to Tools > Internet Options > Programs then Manage Add Ons. From there you can enable/disable, and do it for each one you have installed until you find the culprit. Once you've located it, remove/reinstall it and it should resolve the problem.

I think you're frustrations would be better directed at Adobe..
