Dont know which one as we already have poundland and pound shop and wilkinsons so we really need another pound shop. there was rumors that primark wanted it but it wasnt big enough for them and the shops either side would not sell to them to make it bigger.
Wanted anything other than a pound shop.
I'll take your pound shop (we don't have one) and give you our Iceland Woolies.0 -
It was announced this week that the old Woolies shop in Liverpool City Centre is going to become an Aldi.0

I heard Addlestone, Surrey was becoming a Carpet Right and they did start painiting the door frames orange. I can see through the white washed windows that loads of cheap, tacky Xmas stuff is stacked up but as we get closer to Xmas there's still no sign of it opening yet...strange!0

Camborne , Cornwall opened last week as a Poundstretcher .
If you took the tacky baskets from the front , added newspapers , lottery and CD's it would look just like Woolies , though whether it will have the same housekeeping standards , not too sure .
If it's not been mentioned before Penzance and Truro are now Poundlands .
As far as I know Falmouth and St Austell still empty .0 -
The Woolies in Chichester is now Boots, its huge! Before there were 3 seperate shops, 1 baby shop, 1 main and the Opticians. The new one is brilliant!!Much better location.

My local Woolies (Allerton Rd, Liverpool) is STILL standing empty and forlorn, nearly a year and a half on
the to let sign is still up so it doesn't seem as though there's been much interest in it.
There are 2 Icelands within a 5 min walk either way of it, so they won't be taking it up. Wonder if anything will ever move in?0 -
My local smaller one has turned into Heron Foods (similar to Iceland) and the main one in my local town (2 floors) is still empty.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670

The Hemel Hempstead one is now a B&M - or Poundland by any other name
Bet the Manager of Poundland across the road is spitting!
I'm delighted to see that the Wellworths in Dorchester still going strong- they're even thinking of opening a second one !!!
