How to cancel a new suite

I ordered a new suite at the end of Feb, it is due mid May.
My Mum was looking for a new suite herself and I excitedly took her in to see it, but having sat on loads that day with her I didn't find mine comfortable any more.
I went back to the shop (DFS) 2 weeks ago and explained my predicament, they said it can't be cancelled. It isn't being made, the 11 weeks is shipping time so as soon as I ordered it, it was on it's way to me.
I signed a credit agreement, I am a housewife and they took no details about my husband or his income. In fact, he doesn't even know! It was to be a surprise..... We've had our current suite for 9 years.
Is there any way I can get out of it?

have you read the T&C on the back of your order? Perhaps this will explain things in more detail as to your rights?
I don't think cancelling just because you don't find it comfortable anymore will be a good enough reason, that would be like saying you've changed your mind because of the colour. As for the comfort factor I'm sure over time it will get better - don't forget you've had your current suite for 9 years - anything else is bound to feel a bit tough to start with. Happened to us - got our new suite end of last year and thought I'd made a mistake as I couldn't get comfortable in it, but now a few months on, it's getting more "worn in" and comfortable. Plus everyone is different - that's why there is so much choice - not everyone will find every suite comfortable.0 -
Thanks for that. When I ordered it they circled a thing on the front which said it was a legally binding order. Haven't read all the T&Cs but they told me I can't get out of it. No deposit paid though and m Husband doesn't even know...
Worth a try, thanks!0 -

if you're concerned, I think you should tell your husband, two heads are better than one and all that.......
Is it the expense or the fact that the sofa is not comfortable that bothers you?0 -
To be honest I dont think you have any right to cancel it and it would only be down to goodwill from the store if they allowed you to, which it appears they wont. If you liked the sofa in the first place then I'm sure you will like it once its delivered.0

It's the sofa, not the expense (only £35 per month for 3 years) He will be fine with it, we are slowly but surely getting our new house together and a new suite is top priority. I only mentioned that he doesn't know and that it's on credit in case these were possible ways to get out of the deal.
Hopefully, I will grow to like it. Something made me buy it in the first place lol0 -
I'm sure it will be fine
