barbados

whooooheeeeee. we're going to barbados!!!!!
...in May, so we decided to spend the kids inheritance and slpash out. Any tips, you seasoned travelors? Like, can I take sun cream with us? Which is a good one for two red-heads with aged skin... good places to visit, or not, we are staying on the west coast, at an all-inclusive package hotel, it seems the best deal. Roll on.............:j :j :T :j :T :T :j

It was a few years ago when we went but hopefully not too much has changed. Make sure you catch one of the funny minibus buses into Bridgetown. They are an experience not to be missed. All the different drivers try to get you to use their particular bus. We also hired a little mini-moke jeep thing which was good fun.
The weather is very hot. I've got sallow skin but I burnt. A guy on the beach went off and got me some aloe vera leaves to rub on my sunburn! Take plenty of high factor cream.
    Have a great time.

We hired a car for two weeks and I loved it as we really got to know the island. Driving is easy, but don't follow signs as they are useless!

I love Barbados. It's just so relaxed.

If you have the opportunity, get yourself on a day trip to the Grenadines. The Tobago Keys are paradise on Earth and Mopion is a must ;)

Which hotel are you thinking of staying in? I have been to Barbados 4 times and my father owns an apartment on the West Coast so I know it quite well.
It is a shame that you are going to be All Inclusive as it is normally quite expensive compared with self catering acccommodation and eating out/buying drink at the supermarket- but you might have got a good price going in May?
Let me know further and I will give you more tips of where to go etc.
