(memo to magnum and everyone else : no-one wants these pre-loaded cards! bring back cheques!.) anyhow, the fault with this promotion lies nto with the people "abusing" it, but firmly with unilever who did not cover all their bases. as anyone who has done competitions for a long enough knows there are rules that could have been easily applied! eg they could have restricted it to 1 entry per person per day. in which you have to give your name and address with each entry.
yes, mulitple sims or emails could still be used, but less easily. does this happen often? oh, yes! in another comp, demanding 1 entry per person, i know someone who entered from 26 different addresses.. i suppose all were friends and family, but they equally may have had a big property portfolio from all their previous winnings. unfortunately for them i won. with one address and one entry. lady luck on my side.

I agree. I'm just happy to have the opportunity to make a couple of hundred pounds and don't see the point in getting upset about the minor details. I can understand people getting frustrated with customer service (just like any other customer service dept), especially people who are taking the comp very seriously or making a living from it, but at the end of the day it's still free money.
And yes, MARKETING is the word! Magnum are not going to try to avoid giving out £1m in prizes out of their, I dunno, £30m? marketing budget because annoying people would probably be counter productive to their marketing strategy.
I would like to add that even the biggest winners are only making 5 grand or so. In business big players make millions; these people aren't even small fry in comparison. There are people out there making vast sums of money by ripping off the public, by ripping US off, so please save some anger for them. I know it doesn't make small wrongs right, but it does sadden me to see such a storm in a teacup when the bigger picture is in such a mess! It's easy to lose oneself in a microcosm such as this, especially with a forum to immerse oneself in. I've done it myself; someone has told me that I've offended quite a few people, so I'd just like to apologise now to anyone who feels that way, only one was mildly intentional and regretted in hindsight, any others I did it without realising, sorry.

I've not had a win since 22nd which was for a draw on Saturday morning. I entered another 7 later that Saturday and 15 on the Sunday, so I'm hoping they're just late!

Yeah, I know, I'm putting in a lot more entries this week and storing the ice creams without the sticks! I still need another card to get my daughter's birthday present...
