Hi theoilyone

That could replace "The lord is my shepherd" as a popular phrase or saying................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0 -
No chance.
The money is still owed, and the bank is entitled to recover it. All that has changed is that now the bank is insured against any losses it faces if it does not succeed in getting the money back.0 -
I have just read the artful dodgerspost.
It has persuaded me that the oilydodger is artful too.
I withdraw my offer of financial support as I find the artfuldodger to be more convincing.
It reminds me of a song.
"Oil be seeing you" in all the old familiar forums................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0 -
My opinion is also 'NO' firstly the bank bailout was in effect HMG buying shares in leading banks at a fixed price. Ultimatly the banks will by these shares back from HMG.Just a quick update here I have decided that I will stop all repayments and try to start a test case supported either by interested parties or legal aid as I am on benefits anyway.Basically I think the Bank has had the money so I am not paying it to them again! I did not have an agreement with a reckless stupid Government that bails out sinking ships with my hard earned taxes, therefore say what you like I am not paying any money for any debts incurred by me
Hmm so what is it.. do you pay taxes or claim benefits?? Of course you can do both but i have an income level to allow legal aid your tax contribution will be tiny and probably won't cover the benefits you appear to receive.
here is a point to consider. You believe HMG has 'bought' your debt from RBS so you therefore 'owe' HMG £9500. I suggest that by your logic you get no 'benefits' and no tax free allowance on income until debt is paid back

Lodger,
Please don't waste your time trying to mount a legal challenge here - you don't have one.
You borrowed money jointly with your husband, and given his bankruptcy you are now responsible for paying it back. If you cannot afford to do so then there are legal methods to get some relief by way of bankruptcy which will have consequences for you in terms of your ability to work in some professions and your ability to borrow for the next 6 years.
Just because the government has bailed out RBS so that its depositors didn't lose their money doesn't change any of that.

, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.0
